The basic rules of firearms safety should always be obeyed, regardless of the type of weapon or ammunition. A blank can be a "crimped" or have a paper wadding. A simulated round (one you would use for a scene where the loading is filmed) would have a lead projectile, but wouldn't contain any powder or primer, it would contain a metal bead so it can easily be detected as a "dummy round" when you shake it. The live ammo should not have been allowed anywhere on the set.

The problem wasn't that the blanks weren't all blanks. Sure, refusing to use blanks is one way to solve it. Or you could just NOT HAVE LIVE AMMO ON THE SET IN THE FIRST PLACE! Why are they blaming blanks? Seriously what were real bullets that you could just mix up with blanks doing on a movie set at all? Also the gun fired without him pulling the trigger? How?

Why live ammo on the set. Whoever had control of prop guns before Baldwin needs to be included in the case

WHO the hell put a real bullet into that gun? Identify that person and hold them responsible. Everything else is hogwash.

It should be illegal for a real firearms to be used on set. Nothing that can be loaded with real ammunition, blank or other, or that can fire a projectile.

Something these idiots don’t understand is that even a blank can cause damage if used wrong. The wad can punch holes as well the powder can burn and do damage. That is why you test every gun as if were real and loaded. Had Alex Baldwin took a few NRA courses instead of talking bad about gun owners and the NRA he would have learned something that would have saved his friends life and his. But now he must face the music just like anyone else or it is a cover up.

I don't think he's a monster or a murderer. I think a settlement should be reached, community service added, safety classes and he should go around schools making speeches. Fatal mistakes were made, but I don't think it spawned a murderer with no remorse.
