Classified Documents Found at Joe Biden’s Office

President Biden was surprised to find out that classified documents were discovered in an office he had kept after leaving the vice presidency.

Biden stated that his attorneys immediately turned them over to the National Archives

Recently, it was reported that government records from President Joe Biden's time as Vice President were found at one of his former private office spaces in Washington. Joe Biden stated “I was briefed about the discovery and surprised to learn that there were any government records that were taken there to that office”.

Many Republicans have compared this situation to the classified documents that were hoarded by former President Donald Trump and later seized at Mar-a-Lago. However, there are a couple of clear distinctions between the two cases. Firstly, only ten documents were found in Biden's office, whereas Trump was holding over 300. Some of Biden's documents have been classified as top secret, as were 60 of Trump's.

Biden will likely face the same questions that Trump did

Once the documents were discovered, Biden stated that his attorneys immediately turned them over to the National Archives. Trump, on the other hand, obstructed the handover and refused to return them to the agency. He even went so far as to assert ownership over the government documents and claim to have declassified them.

The documents found in Biden's office are now being reviewed by a US attorney. Biden will likely face the same questions that Trump did, such as whether he was entitled to these documents, if they were stored properly, and why he even had them.
