When did body hair become seen as "unfeminine"?

It grows naturally on women's legs, underarms and labia... and yet women who refuse to remove their body hair are stigmatized, and even attacked. How did we get here?

Woman's boundaries/stereotypes are created by women themselves. And most importantly by the media world. If not Harper's bazaar model would firstly photographed as hairless armpits..maybe it would have been less pressure. The media define beauty then itself changes it to you go girl...hairs are fine ..blah blah. Media and fashion industry are bunch of hypocrites. That's all. Beauty bloggers/ actress/models can never be feminists.

A very very long time ago. Even if apes are our ancestors doesn.t mean we have to look like them. It.s my opinion and I like men that remove some of the body hair too, so it.s not about women.

There's something satisfying to it, when you're freshly shaves shoulders and arms and legs. And you wear your favourite hoodie or Tshirt and it ACTUALLY touches your skin. It's cosy.

I think most women shave for cleanliness. Imagine sweating on a hot summer day with full on under arm hair stuck to your skin all sticky and staining your t-shirt with a sweaty circle. Also follicles can get impacted then infected. Its extremely painful and can leave scars. This isn't about being too vain. And so what is this? Pretty shaming? Feeling good about oneself shaming? Does this make one less of a woman? Mind your business and quit trying to guilt trip women. We already feel guilty for enough. This doesn't make any type of sense.

Hair holds body odor. Thats why I shave. Nothing to do with anyone. To each his own.

You forgetting Freda ,her self portrait are and her iconic eyebrows and little bit moustache symbolise the natural biological image of women..
