You can't hate or demonise one food type. At the end of the day all industrial processes are due to an ever growing demand. Whether it be cranberries, oil palm or meat. The real issue is that there are too many people for this finite planet to support so we need a concerted and global reduction in population by reducing birth rates all of which can be achieved by education, contraception and female empowerment.

I'm well aware of how fruits/ food is quickly ripened to enhance the longevity of the food product.. Hence I First soak for few minutes the vegetable / fruits with warm-hot water, then wash them in cold water. Drain the excess water veggies /fruits, cut them in the length sizes you want, then store them in zip-lock bags in the freezer. This way nothing is wasted. Remove these veggies / fruits 20 minutes before cooking.. you maintain the freshness & the nutrients.. :-)
