I remember that day very well no one expected such a terrible thing to happen that day

I remember watching this RIP

I watched it in person ..knew right away it had exploded a horrific sight.

I watched it happen on the television in school. I was 8. Right after it happened they shut off the TV's and took us out for an impromptu assembly with the entire school. Even though you don't actually see the astronauts die, you still... see them die. And it was the first time I ever saw someone die. It definitely made an impression.

We were working at JOHN RANDOLPH MEDICAL CENTER, Hopewell, Va watching the lift off. Very sad 😢

Challenger is twice as long ago now, as the Apollo 1 tragedy was from Challenger. Hard to fathom. :-(
