Racism and Sexism Written Into the U.S. Constitution

"All men are created equal"? Eh, not so much, according to this author, who points to all of the racism and sexism written into the U.S. Constitution that still carries over to this day.

Guy is unhinged, angry probably because he has not been successful in life and wants to take down everybody who has.

Unfortunately women make less than a male of equal status all over the world.

The wonderful thing about our constitution is that it changes with time. Yes it codifies slavery BUT it also abolishes slavery. It should be changed to say all PEOPLE are born equal and any other place where all can be included.

Not one thing is wrong for the time it was written, and it has changed over time. However, the general principals can never change, or the country will be no more.

The Constitution is a living document, having been amended many times to address problems, like slavery, women's suffrage, other things. Those dirty old white men who wrote it provided the method to change it by formal amendments, realizing that times change. There is no process to go back and rewrite the body of the document, and none is needed. This guy wants to point to the original wording to make his point, avoiding the amendments. Times change, the document has changed, and one change, prohibition, has been reversed. Yes, nearly all of the original drafters and signers were white men and the original language reflects that. But today, there are blacks and women in Congress and other government positions of power, judges.. 3 on SCOTUS, state and local administrative positions....not yet 50 - 50 but getting more inclusive as time goes by. Complaining because America was founded largely by white men is just racism in reverse. Can't change History, but America has changed for the better.

The constitution is not the problem. The people who interpret the constitution are the problem. Judges; especially the Supreme Court justices, are supposed to follow the law. They should not interpret it based on their beliefs but on the law. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen in this day and age.

That’s because proper English always uses the masculine noun form when speaking about an unknown person.

What is wrong is wrong. "merciless indian savages". "gender specific pronouns". Wrong and that should mean "out". No ifs and buts.
