This is the first city to try reparations for Black Americans

This local official is behind the first reparations for slavery in the country ... and it's happening in a small town in Illinois.

America has reparations its called welfare and foodstamps. Only in America can a 16 year old kid with 2 kids live for free for 18 years to life.

95%+ never owned anyone. Fought and voted for legal equality. The other 4%+ were of all hues and owned folks. And not all were enslaved. And not all here are descendants of the enslaved.

So stupid. You can’t over police crimes that aren’t happening. If 100% of the ppl smoking marijuana are black of course the arrest rate is going to be higher in the black community. That doesn’t mean they are arresting white people for smoking marijuana. It just means that more people in the black community are smoking marijuana. It’s not a skin color issue.

Maybe someone reads the Constitution to these politicians pushing for reparations, maybe emphasizing the 14th amendment section four specifically.... ?

In early US history, White Americans who served any period of "servitude" were considered indentured servants for a specified number of years. This also includes individuals who voluntarily obligated themselves as well as convicts who were exiled to serve part of their sentence in the U.S. Once their obligation was satisfied, they were released of their obligation and were granted clothing, food and property. Most importantly, they were accepted among the community without any stigma or continuous obligation of their children, grand-children and the like to be owned by anyone.
