Oklahoma’s school superintendent has canceled a plan that would have required Bibles in classrooms.

On Wednesday, Oct. 15, Oklahoma’s new public school superintendent Lindel Fields announced the reversal of the previous superintendent’s mandate, which would have required school districts to include Bibles in classrooms and use them in lesson plans for students in grades 5 through 12.
