Kangana Ranaut has never been far from controversy, but her latest round of public clashes has brought several old disputes back into focus.
In just a few days, the actor and BJP MP has criticised Kriti Sanon’s Raksha Bandhan advertisement, revived her long-running feud with Taapsee Pannu and hit back at Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana and Rakhi Sawant.
She has also taken on yoga guru Baba Ramdev and continued her war of words with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), after her comments on Gen Z protesters triggered a backlash.
Here is what happened, and what the people she criticised said in response.
Kangana Vs Kriti Sanon
The latest clash began with a Raksha Bandhan jewellery campaign featuring Kriti Sanon.
Kangana Ranaut took a potshot at the campaign, questioning Kriti’s outfit while she tied a rakhi to her brother. “Why would you tie your brother a rakhi in your bikini/undergarments?” Kangana asked, calling the campaign “intentionally creepy”.
Kriti responded to the criticism through an Instagram Story. Defending her choice of clothing, she wrote that “the essence of festivals is not in the clothes you wear”, but in the emotions and meaning attached to traditions.
She also questioned the scrutiny faced by women over their clothes, asking, “when will we stop telling women what to wear?”
Kriti added that a woman's respect for her culture should not be measured by her clothes, writing, “Culture & traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline!”
Kangana Vs Taapsee Pannu
Kangana's clash with Taapsee goes back years.
The dispute began around 2019, when Kangana's sister Rangoli Chandel called Taapsee a "sasti copy" after Taapsee praised a film associated with Kangana.
The two later clashed during Bollywood's nepotism debate. Kangana called Taapsee a "B-grade" actor, while Taapsee argued that outsiders should support each other instead of attacking one another.
The issue resurfaced in August 2026 after Taapsee spoke about their long-running public feud.
Kangana accused her of insulting her parents, upbringing and background, and again used the "sasti copy" label. Taapsee responded that the issue would have ended long ago if people stopped asking them about it.

Kangana Vs Sonu Sood
Sonu Sood entered the latest controversy after Kangana attacked Gen Z protesters.
Kangana had criticised a section of young people involved in CJP-linked protests over the NEET controversy. She called them "Generation Gutter" and criticised young women participating in the protests, linking their behaviour to what she described as drugs, drinking and an unwillingness to take responsibility.
Sood called the comments "shameful".
He said young people play an important role in an actor's success and urged public figures to think carefully before speaking.
Kangana has now hit back, saying Sood had told her to learn how to behave. She dismissed his criticism and said she would not take advice from people who had achieved even one per cent of the success she had.
Kangana Vs Ashutosh Rana
Actor Ashutosh Rana had also criticised Kangana's language during the Gen Z controversy.
Without directly naming her in his initial comments, Rana said that language matters and that a person's words can bring both respect and consequences.
Kangana later named him directly, accusing him of saying that she "barks like a dog".
She included Rana among the people she described as unsuccessful critics who repeatedly speak about her in the media.
Kangana Vs Rakhi Sawant
Rakhi Sawant also defended the young protesters after Kangana's "Generation Gutter" comments.
Sawant questioned Kangana's political position and criticised her for speaking about young women in Parliament. She also used strong personal language against Kangana in an Instagram video.
Kangana later accused Sawant of making vulgar comments about her character.
She again grouped Sawant with the other celebrities she said had repeatedly targeted her for publicity.
Kangana Vs Baba Ramdev
Kangana's clash with Baba Ramdev became particularly personal.
After Ramdev criticised her comments about Gen Z, Kangana accused him of crossing "every boundary of decency" with his remarks about women.
She also told him not to give her "character lessons" and referred to controversies involving Patanjali while defending her own character.
Ramdev initially responded by saying that people in the country know his contribution and that he did not want to comment further about people of Kangana's stature.
And Then Came CJP
The CJP protests became the trigger for much of Kangana's latest controversy.
After criticising the protesters and calling a section of Gen Z "Generation Gutter", she got into a separate war of words with CJP spokesperson Saurav Das and founder Abhijeet Dipke.
Kangana called Das "useless" and questioned his credentials. She also compared her own achievements with his age and career.
On 24 August, she took another swipe at Dipke by sharing a reel comparing their English-speaking skills. The caption contrasted Kangana's education as a "12th pass" with Dipke's Boston University background.
Kangana Hits Back At Her Critics
Kangana Ranaut later responded to criticism from Ashutosh Rana, Sonu Sood, Rakhi Sawant and Taapsee Pannu, addressing their remarks about her in a single statement.
Referring to Ashutosh Rana, she said he had compared her way of speaking to a dog barking. She said Sonu Sood had told her to learn how to speak, while accusing Rakhi Sawant of making remarks about her character and Taapsee Pannu of making comments about her parents, upbringing and background.
Kangana said, “Enough is enough. Every other day, I see people like Ashutosh Rana, who says I bark like a dog, or the likes of Sonu Sood, who says I should learn how to speak.”
She continued, “Then there are people like Rakhi Sawant, who make all sorts of remarks about my character, and Taapsee Pannu, who insults my parents, my upbringing, and my background.”
Kangana then questioned why she should take their criticism seriously, adding, “If you haven’t achieved even one percent of the success I have in life, I am not going to listen to you.”

Kangana’s Controversies Go Way Back
Kangana Ranaut’s public clashes did not start with her latest feuds. Over the years, she has been involved in controversies around Bollywood, politics and social media.
