A social media post can reveal more than a moment from a celebrity’s life. Regular football visits, gym sessions and publicly shared videos can also offer clues about someone’s routine. In the case of actor Tiger Shroff, investigators are examining whether information available online helped suspected shooters track his movements before they opened fire at his car in Mumbai.

The incident took place in Juhu on Sunday, 18 October 2026. Shroff escaped the firing without gunshot injuries, while his driver and a bystander were injured. Subsequent arrests have brought the alleged planning, supply of weapons and escape arrangements into focus.

Here is what investigators have uncovered so far.

What Happened In Juhu?

According to reports, three men on a motorcycle allegedly opened fire at Shroff’s BMW as he was leaving a football venue in Juhu at around 7 pm.

The actor was seated in the front passenger seat. His driver, Firdaus Baloch, sustained an injury to his left hand. Umesh Chauhan, a bystander and content creator, was also injured.

Investigators said five rounds were fired. A forensic examination found three bullet impacts on the left side of the windscreen. Police also suspect that one of the weapons jammed, preventing further firing.

The Mumbai Police launched an investigation, examining CCTV footage, the suspected getaway route and the motorcycle allegedly used in the attack.

How Did The Shooters Track Tiger Shroff?

Investigators suspect the accused monitored Shroff’s movements for around 10 days before the shooting, according to NDTV.

The alleged surveillance reportedly extended beyond the football ground. The accused are said to have conducted reconnaissance, or recce, of locations including his residence and gym.

Investigators are also examining whether paparazzi videos, fan recordings, reels and other social media posts helped the suspects identify places Shroff regularly visited.

His Sunday football routine appears to have been particularly relevant. According to reports, the suspected shooters knew he regularly visited the Juhu venue and allegedly planned their attack around his departure.

The Times of India reported that an earlier attempt on 11 October did not go ahead because Shroff did not turn up at the ground that day. The accused allegedly returned on 18 October, when he was present.

These details point to a possible pattern of surveillance rather than an attack planned spontaneously. However, the full sequence of events and the role of each accused remain subject to investigation.

What Weapons Were Used, And What Was Recovered?

The firing involved firearms, but the weapons were not recovered when the three suspected shooters were arrested in Rajasthan.

Police arrested the men at Kota railway station on 19 October, while they were travelling away from Mumbai. The Times of India reported that investigators suspected one weapon had jammed during the shooting.

A separate development on 20 October brought the alleged weapons supply network into focus. The Delhi Police Special Cell arrested four more people: Kunal, Sumit, Radha and Babita.

According to police accounts, the four were allegedly involved in arranging or transporting weapons linked to the attack. Investigators suspect that a pistol and ammunition were brought from Amritsar to Mumbai, with the two women from Uttar Pradesh allegedly acting as couriers.

The alleged arrangement is still being investigated. It is important to distinguish between weapons reportedly used in the attack and weapons recovered from the suspects: police had said no firearm was found on the three men arrested in Kota.

From Social Media To An Alleged Network

The investigation is no longer limited to the three men accused of carrying out the firing.

According to NDTV, the suspected shooters remained in contact with alleged handlers through WhatsApp and Signal. Investigators are also examining how weapons were arranged and how the accused travelled between cities.

The three suspected shooters reportedly fled on a motorcycle, abandoned it near Andheri West railway station and travelled towards Surat before boarding a train. Police tracked them to Kota, Rajasthan, where they were arrested on 19 October.

The case also drew attention after Anil Pandit claimed responsibility for the shooting in a message circulated online. Pandit is allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The message reportedly linked the attack to Tiger Shroff’s association with Salman Khan and warned people in the film industry against working with Khan.

Police are also investigating the alleged weapons supply network and the people suspected of coordinating the attack. The probe is now focused on the links between the shooters, the alleged handlers and others suspected of helping organise the operation.

The Bigger Question: How Much Can Public Posts Reveal?

The case raises a broader question about celebrity privacy and online safety. Public posts can help fans follow an actor’s daily life, but repeated updates may also make routines easier to identify.

A single photograph may reveal little. A series of posts showing the same location, activity or time of day can provide a more detailed picture of someone’s movements.

That does not mean social media alone caused the attack. Investigators are still determining how the accused gathered information, who allegedly directed them and what motive lay behind the firing.

The crucial questions now are how the weapons reached the alleged shooters, who coordinated the operation and whether others were involved.

As the investigation progresses, the case could reveal more about the alleged planning behind the attack and the network that police suspect supported it.
