After 22 years of celebrity confessions, savage comebacks and rapid fire answers that made headlines, Koffee With Karan is preparing to serve its final cup. Hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar, the show has turned celebrity interviews into pop culture events, with stars discussing everything from relationships and rivalries to career highs and controversies.
Season 9 premieres on 14 October, 2026, on JioHotstar, with Salman Khan returning as the opening guest. But what makes the farewell especially interesting is the show’s legacy. From Kangana Ranaut calling out nepotism to Alia Bhatt’s infamous answer about India’s President, the show has produced moments that continue to be quoted years later.
Before the final season begins, here are five things to watch for, followed by five iconic moments that helped make the show a Bollywood institution.

1. Salman Khan’s Return to the Couch
Salman Khan opens the final season, returning to the show after more than a decade. In the latest promo, Karan Johar revisits the actor’s famous virginity claim. Salman responds, “Control bro.” The exchange brings one of the show’s most memorable moments back into the spotlight.
2. One Last Rapid Fire Round

Johar’s direct questions have often been as memorable as the answers they provoke. The show has also faced criticism for some of its exchanges, making its final season an opportunity to reflect on both its entertainment value and its controversies. Whether the finale addresses that history remains to be seen.
5. The End of a 22-Year Run
Koffee With Karan premiered in 2004 with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol as its first guests. After eight seasons and 161 episodes, Season 9 marks the end of a show that has shaped celebrity conversations for more than two decades. Johar announced that the upcoming season would be the last.
