A purported audio recording has brought a fresh twist to the Hardeep Singh Nijjar killing case, with fugitive gangster Goldy Brar allegedly claiming that he and his associates were responsible for the 2023 killing.
Brar, whose real name is Satinderjeet Singh, is heard making the claim during a conversation with Paramjit Singh Pamma in the audio clip. However, the authenticity of the recording has not been independently verified, and the claims made in it should be treated as allegations.

In the purported conversation, Brar allegedly says that he and his associates killed Nijjar.
He also gives an alleged reason for targeting the Sikh separatist, accusing Nijjar of supporting people who involved teenagers in drug-related activities and used young people as informants.

He has also been linked by authorities to the Lawrence Bishnoi organised crime network. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has previously sought information leading to Brar’s arrest.
Brar has previously claimed responsibility for the killing of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, who was shot dead in Punjab in May 2022.
Who was Hardeep Singh Nijjar?
Hardeep Singh Nijjar was shot dead outside a gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on 18 June 2023.
His killing triggered a major diplomatic confrontation between India and Canada after then Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged that Canadian authorities had information suggesting a possible link between Indian government agents and the killing.
India rejected the allegation.
The case subsequently became a major point of tension in India-Canada relations.
