The man’s body was found hanging in an open space near his home on 5 July. According to Circle Inspector Dilip Singh, police reached the spot after receiving information about the body.
Investigators collected evidence, and the body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem the following day.
Police had initially registered a case of suicide. A murder case was subsequently registered following the man’s wife’s complaint, which alleged that he had been killed and his death made to look like suicide.
