A woman alleged to have links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been arrested by the Delhi Police Special Cell. She is known by the alias “Madam Zeher”.
Khusnuma Ansari, also known as Neha, was arrested for allegedly managing a drug syndicate. The arrest was carried out by the Delhi Police Special Cell, according to reports.
To the public, Ansari appeared to be running a beauty parlour in Northeast Delhi. However, police said the parlour was allegedly used as a front to hide illegal activities and to operate a drug distribution network.
When she was arrested near the Mahipalpur flyover, police recovered a large quantity of drugs from her possession. Investigators said this recovery, along with her alleged role in drug distribution, led them to refer to her as “Madam Zeher”.
Police said Ansari had been associated for around seven years with Bobby Kabootar, a gunman and weapons supplier. Bobby Kabootar, whose real name is Mahfooz, was also taken into custody.
Investigators stated that Mahfooz served as a logistics link for the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and the Hashim Baba gang. They also alleged that he procured high-end firearms from Salim Pistol, who is referred to as one of India’s largest illegal arms dealers, with links to Pakistan’s ISI.
Ansari is the third woman described as a “lady don” to be arrested recently, following Deepa and Zoya Khan, the wife of gangster Hashim Baba.
With both Mahfooz and Khusnuma Ansari in custody, police said they are questioning them to gather further information on the gang, identify suppliers and handlers, and locate any hidden cells or operatives across the National Capital Region.
