Millions of students across India face immense pressure around exam season– if it isn’t the constant pressure to score well, it’s the fear of disappointing those around them by ‘falling behind’. The Pariksha Pe Charcha initiative by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was started with the aim to shift that mindset.
With every edition, the initiative has grown in scale and scope and with its 2026 chapter, the format evolved even further. What was usually a one-venue interaction between the Prime Minister and the students became a pan-India event when the former travelled to cities in Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, and Assam to meet students on-ground.
Inside Pariksha Pe Charcha: Turning Exam Stress Into Confidence
Pariksha Pe Charcha was launched as a platform where students, parents, and teachers were encouraged to have open conversations about their exam stress and return with helpful, actionable advice. There is a simple motive at the heart of the initiative: to drive home the fact that exams and scores don’t define a child’s potential.
In 2025, the movement’s motto was to turn ‘Worriers Into Warriors’ by inviting experts in their fields like Bhumi Pednekar, Deepika Padukone, and Avni Lekhara to give the students their valuable insights, specifically curated for the problems they face in their academic life. The conversations moved beyond the textbook and covered themes like self-confidence, motivation, mental health, and financial literacy.
A Record-breaking Nationwide Dialogue
With Pariksha Pe Charcha’s scale, its impact continued to grow. While the inaugural edition in 2018 welcomed 22000 participants, the 2025 edition saw a world record-breaking 3.53 crore registrations. In 2026, that number rose to 4.05 crore.
The initiative doesn’t just aim to help students tackle exam stress, it’s aimed at kickstarting a mindset shift. Students tend to look at exam scores as the final metric for success; it’s one of the few reasons why exam season can feel incredibly daunting.
