Meghranjani Arya Das grew up carrying experiences she describes as traumatic. She says she did not have strong friendships or supportive relationships while growing up and often felt treated differently by people around her. Comparisons with relatives were constant, and she says this shaped how she saw herself from a young age.

She is from Goalpara, Assam, where she completed her schooling and college. As a child, she says she was active and expressive but not academically inclined. While her cousins performed well in studies, she was repeatedly told she was not doing enough. During this time, she developed an interest in being on camera. Using her mother’s phone, she began recording herself, posing, and walking in front of the camera at home, even before she knew what vlogging or content creation meant. Being on camera made her feel comfortable and engaged.

Her family expected her to study and eventually take up a job. According to her, careers like modeling or acting were not considered viable options where she came from. Since she was not financially independent, she followed her family’s expectations while continuing to make videos in small ways. She used her pocket money to buy makeup and kept recording content on her own.

After completing her graduation, Meghranjani wanted to leave Assam and build a life elsewhere. However, the lockdown in 2020 changed her plans. She spent nearly three years mostly confined to her room, surrounded by people who questioned her choices and compared her progress with others. During this period, she continued making videos despite limited resources and no income from content platforms.

Her early videos were recorded on a phone with low camera quality. Over time, viewers began recognising her content and engaging with it. She learned editing, scripting, and content structure gradually, including through working with teams and writers later on. Her on-camera style developed from observing real-life situations, especially interactions at home.

Leaving home was a major turning point for her. As an only child, she says the decision required repeated arguments and emotional struggle. Once she moved out, she realised that freedom also meant learning to manage daily life independently—handling work, travel, cooking, and living alone for the first time.

She says content creation played a role in helping her cope with her past. Being on camera gave her a sense of control and direction. Over time, appreciation from viewers and financial independence changed her circumstances. However, she does not consider herself fully settled and says she is still learning and adjusting.

For Meghranjani Arya Das, content creation has been a way to move forward, step by step, while continuing to build a life on her own terms.
