CJP Leaders Detained Again for Breaching Jantar Mantar

Delhi Police detained two Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, again on 13 October. The two leaders had reached Jantar Mantar in Delhi with some of their associates. The detention came a day after authorities de-notified Jantar Mantar from the list of designated protest sites in Delhi. Earlier, on 10 October, Delhi Police had detained CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, and leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka from an aircraft at Delhi airport. The three leaders had arrived in the capital to participate in a planned protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. They were produced before an executive magistrate on 11 October and subsequently released on bail bonds.
