Delhi University students protested during Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh’s event at the Faculty of Arts on Tuesday, 8 September, raising slogans against him following the Satya Niketan building collapse. Students questioned the university holding the programme days after the collapse, which killed seven people, including five Delhi University students. They also raised demands for hostel facilities and accountability over student safety. NSUI member Ram Niwas Bishnoi was escorted out of the auditorium after raising slogans, following which police were called, according to reports. The protest came after DU students and student organisations had raised concerns about accommodation and safety following the Satya Niketan tragedy.
