Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been granted a 21-day furlough from Sunaria jail in Rohtak, Haryana. He has been permitted to travel to the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters in Sirsa. This is Ram Rahim's 17th temporary release from prison, according to available information. It is also his third consecutive visit to the Sirsa headquarters after previous releases that saw him stay at the Dera's Barnawa ashram in Uttar Pradesh. Ram Rahim was convicted in 2017 for raping two women disciples and received two 10-year prison sentences to run consecutively. He is also serving a life sentence in the murder of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh and was convicted in journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati's murder case.
