Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra alleged that eggs were thrown at her during a visit to her Krishnanagar constituency in West Bengal on 16 September 2026. The incident took place in Nadia district as she attended a party meeting. Moitra alleged that BJP workers threw eggs at her in the presence of police personnel. Videos shared by her on X show protesters surrounding her vehicle and eggs being thrown during the confrontation. BJP representatives have denied involvement in the incident. The incident comes after the Calcutta High Court on 1 September directed the West Bengal Police to deploy two personnel whenever Moitra visited her constituency. The order followed her allegations of egg pelting and other harassment during constituency visits. Moitra had faced another protest in Nadia earlier in September.
