Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin at Delhi's Palam airport with a handshake and hug upon his arrival for a two-day visit, before both left together in the same car. Putin will attend a private dinner in Delhi, hosted by PM Modi shortly after his arrival. Delhi and Moscow are expected to sign several agreements during the visit, which comes months after the US pressed India to curb purchases of Russian oil.
