Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarks on students protesting for exam fairness. Speaking about student concerns over exams and education, Gandhi asked who gave the Prime Minister the right to “forgive” students. His remarks came after PM Modi, in a 31 July video, said that “abuses never solve anything” and added, “I want to forgive them. I request society also to accept what I am saying.” Gandhi said students were asking for fairness in exams and an education system that works. He also criticised the approach of the Prime Minister, his colleagues and the RSS towards issues raised by students. The statement comes amid discussions around exam-related concerns raised by students.
