Amitabh Bachchan continued his Sunday tradition of greeting fans outside his Mumbai residence, Jalsa, on 1 November. However, this time, the actor appeared behind bulletproof glass as his son, Abhishek Bachchan, kept watch nearby.
The security arrangements followed a bomb threat email targeting Bachchan's residence, the Mumbai Mayor's office and a venue hosting a Diljit Dosanjh concert.
According to The Indian Express, the protective enclosure was reportedly 12 feet tall. Police personnel were also deployed outside the actor's residence.
The appearance came two weeks after gunmen opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff's residence in Juhu on 18 October. Police investigations reportedly revealed that the gunmen had also surveyed the residences of Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan.
Despite the security arrangements, Bachchan continued his 42-year-old Sunday tradition of meeting and greeting fans outside Jalsa.
