A video showed a strike hitting in the southern Lebanese city of Tyre, sending large plumes of smoke into the air as people ran for safety and debris scattered across the area. Israel carried out air raids on Lebanon’s capital Beirut for the second time in a row. This came after Hezbollah said it had targeted an airbase in northern Israel. The attacks are part of the wider regional conflict that escalated after the United States and Israel carried out strikes on Iran. On 3 March, new Israeli air raids hit the Haret Hreik area in Beirut’s southern suburbs, known as Dahiyeh. At least two other strikes were also reported on the outskirts of the city. The Israeli military also issued evacuation warnings for nearly 59 areas across Lebanon, including several neighbourhoods in Dahiyeh, where many supporters of Hezbollah live.
