Her half eaten body was recovered near the river the next day. Following this, the forest department will provide a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh to Mahala’s family members. In Odisha, crocodile attacks have claimed at least 29 lives over the past 40 months, particularly in areas surrounding Bhitarkanika National Park.
