Gen. Naravane on Signs of War | The Army Chief whose Book created a Storm in Parliament

"We very well know each and every move of theirs. It's a whole of nation approach; it is not the Army alone." In this 2022 interview, Former Indian Army chief, General MM Naravane, speaks about how signs of an imminent war are always there, and it doesn't come as a surprise. During the 2026 Budget Session in Parliament, his memoir "Four Stars of Destiny" became a bone of contention between Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and the Centre. The Lok Sabha was repeatedly adjourned as the Centre objected to Gandhi's attempts at quoting excerpts from the yet-unpublished book, which has been under the government's review since 2024. Gandhi cited an article by The Caravan magazine on Naravane's book and said, "Chinese tanks entered Indian territory during the 2017 Doklam standoff." Any further attempts by him to continue reading were met with strong opposition from the treasury benches.
