A driver pulled up at a petrol pump on Jalesar Road in Hathras, early in the morning on July 31. Immediately after, he filled the petrol tank fully and then drove off without paying. He also tore the nozzle from its hose as he sped away. Attendants at the petrol pump ran after the vehicle but could not stop it, after which they alerted the local police. An FIR for theft and criminal damage was registered. Officers reviewed the CCTV footage and recovered the detached nozzle about two kilometers down the road, as per reports. The driver remains unidentified and is on the run, while the investigation was ongoing.
