Former Indian Army officer and actor Khushboo Patani has reacted to the Jamui harassment case in Bihar involving two minors. She questioned the state of law and order and women’s safety while urging people in Bihar to take the matter personally. What Did Khushboo Patani Say About The Jamui Case? Khushboo Patani shared a video on Instagram on Tuesday, 22 September, in which she spoke about the incident. She referred to a video showing a group of people surrounding a young girl and a boy in Jamui. She questioned why boys and girls should face objections for being together by choice, walking together or being friends. Khushboo also asked people in Bihar to question the condition of women’s safety in the state and the state of its law and order system. She said the issue was not limited to Bihar and urged people to take the matter personally. She also called on people to ensure that those involved in the incident are taken into custody and do not repeat such acts. What Happened In The Jamui Harassment Case? The incident took place on 19 September, when two Class 10 students, a boy and a girl, went to an area in Jamui after attending coaching classes to take photographs, according to Jamui SP Bishwajeet Dayal. A video of the incident later circulated on social media. Jamui Police formed an SIT to investigate the case and registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act.
