Mumbai introduces country’s first musical road:

This is India’s first musical road unveiled on Mumbai’s Coastal Road. Located on the northbound stretch from Nariman Point to Worli. The 500-metre lane near the divider plays a tune as cars pass. Commuters who drive at 70–80 kmph can clearly hear “Jai Ho” music. This music was created using precisely cut rumble strips. The concept of a musical road is believed to have first started in Denmark in 1995. However, the idea gained wider global attention after Japan introduced multiple “melody roads” in 2007, which played recognisable tunes when driven over at specific speeds.
