The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has completed hearings sought by two actors over notices issued in connection with a Vimal Elaichi advertisement. Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff had received notices from the Maharashtra FDA over the advertisement. The notices relate to an allegation of surrogate advertising for Vimal Pan Masala, which is prohibited in Maharashtra. The actors responded to the notices, according to the Maharashtra FDA. Two of the three actors sought a hearing from the FDA. Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe said the hearings had been completed. “Regarding those notices, responses from all three have come. Two of them had asked for a hearing. Their hearing was finished yesterday, and we are proceeding further,” Mundhe said, according to ANI. The FDA has not identified which two actors sought the hearings. The authority said further proceedings in the matter were underway. The notices were issued in connection with the Vimal Elaichi advertisement featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff. The Maharashtra FDA alleged that the advertisement amounted to surrogate advertising for Vimal Pan Masala, a product prohibited in the state. The latest development comes as the FDA continues its proceedings following the responses and hearings.
