A day after the grand Durga Pujo carnival procession, the Ganga at Kolkata’s iconic Babughat was dotted with tons of remnants, mangled steel, plaster of Paris, wood, and even fake and real hair. Walking along the riverbanks, it was obvious that cleaning up was no easy task for civic authorities, who stayed late into the night trying to manage the debris.
