Arunachal Pradesh Minister Balo Raja on Wednesday, 28 October, responded to remarks about ongoing face-offs along the India-China border, saying India was strong and referring to the film Dhurandhar while discussing the country's intelligence capabilities. Speaking to reporters in Itanagar, Raja addressed remarks attributed to Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Director General Shatrujeet Singh Kapur about continuing face-offs at several locations along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh. “Why make statements like that when you are a DIG? Why perceive yourself as weak? India is very strong. You must have seen the 'Dhurandhar' movie; watch it, and you will see how much India's intelligence capabilities have grown,” Raja said. His comments followed Kapur's reported remarks about ongoing face-offs along the frontier in Arunachal Pradesh. Kapur had said that confrontations had taken place at several locations and were continuing. The issue also prompted political reactions, with AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi seeking clarification from the central government on reports of Chinese intrusions and alleged restrictions on Indian patrols and civilians in Arunachal Pradesh. On 24 October, the Ministry of External Affairs said disturbances along the India-China border occurred when Chinese forces deviated from established patrolling patterns. The ministry said both countries continued to use diplomatic and military mechanisms to address outstanding issues and avoid misunderstandings along the LAC.
