CCTV footage showed an altercation between BJP MLA B Suresh Gowda’s daughter Aishwarya and a police sub-inspector at a temple in Karnataka over entry into the sanctum. Police said sub-inspector Savitha was deployed for crowd control and stopped Aishwarya from entering without waiting in the darshan queue. According to Savitha, Aishwarya questioned the decision and the argument escalated. Savitha alleged that Aishwarya slapped her and threatened to affect her career. Savitha filed an FIR, while Aishwarya filed a counter-complaint against the officer. MLA B Suresh Gowda said his daughter should face action if found at fault and called for a departmental inquiry. He also said devotees should follow the same queue rules at temples.
