Two separate incidents linked to the Kanwar Yatra were reported from Uttar Pradesh. In Lucknow, a school van carrying children was allegedly vandalised after the driver applied brakes, leading to a motorcycle carrying Kanwar yatris colliding with the vehicle. Videos circulating on social media showed damaged windows and children inside the van. Police said no child was injured. Parents alleged police initially questioned the van's documents instead of registering a complaint and claimed officers present at the spot did not intervene during the incident. In Meerut, a video showed a group of Kanwar yatris assaulting a man after a minor road collision. Police reached the spot, brought the situation under control and counselled both sides. According to reports, over 2,500 police personnel, 3,000 CCTV cameras and 30 drones have been deployed along the Kanwar Yatra route.
