A Bengaluru rider escaped after his motorcycle hit a water-filled pothole and was later run over by a tanker on Thursday, 20 August. The incident took place on the under-construction Gunjur-Palya CDP Road near Panathur Tree Park. The rider, identified as Saurabh, was travelling to work when his bike hit the pothole and he lost control. He managed to move away from the motorcycle before the tanker travelling behind him ran over it. The tanker was later stopped by people at the scene. According to NDTV, the driver allegedly did not have a driving licence, while the vehicle appeared to have no number plate. A police complaint was subsequently filed. The incident came amid ongoing pothole repairs across Bengaluru. A recent report said around Rs. 5,500 crore had been spent on city roads over three years.
