A headline about workers being removed from their jobs simply for asking to use a toilet led us to a Labour Chowk in Noida. There, as we spoke to daily wage labourers about sanitation facilities at construction sites, their responses uncovered a silent reality, a daily struggle for dignity that is routinely ignored and almost never makes the news. These are the people who build our cities, yet they are denied the most basic human rights. It's time we open our eyes to the conditions endured by workers in the unorganised sector. A change is long overdue-not just in policy, but within us. Dignity is not a privilege, it is a right.
