Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s planned fan meet in London was cancelled on Tuesday, 15 September, after the Metropolitan Police raised crowd-safety concerns. Hundreds of fans had gathered outside The Shard to meet Vijay, with some reportedly waiting for hours. Vijay’s team announced that the programme was being called off because the required permission could not be secured due to public-safety concerns. The cancellation came during Vijay’s UK visit, where he is leading a Tamil Nadu government delegation focused on attracting investment to the state. The Chief Minister’s Office said the delegation had signed MoUs involving proposed investments of around Rs. 12,300 crore. Vijay had also attended actor Ajith Kumar’s Le Mans Cup race at Silverstone on 12 September.
