A video of more than 20 goats being run over by a train in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh surfaced on social media. The incident reportedly took place on 16 September, when some women were taking the goats across a railway track. A gateman alerted them and managed to get the women off the track, but the goats could not be saved. After the accident, RPF personnel reached the site and had the tracks cleared. The livestock owners suffered significant losses and have demanded compensation. In India, thousands of domestic livestock and wild animals die every year after straying onto open railway tracks.
