A Tamil Hindu devotee was seen suspended from a decorated vehicle during a chariot procession in London as part of the “Flying Kavadi” ritual. The ritual was part of the 42nd annual chariot procession of London Sri Murugan Temple, held in August 2026. The temple’s annual chariot festival includes a procession carrying Lord Murugan through the streets. Flying Kavadi is associated with Kavadi Aattam, a Hindu devotional practice in which devotees carry offerings, including milk pots, for Lord Murugan. The London Sri Murugan Temple was established at its current site in 1984 and holds an annual chariot festival.
