Sikkim-based rapper Ugen Namgyal Bhutia, known as UNB, was allegedly assaulted after being chased for nearly an hour in Arunachal Pradesh. UNB was returning from a festival in Anini when two vehicles followed his car before intercepting it on an isolated stretch. According to the account given in the case, eight to 10 men allegedly vandalised the car with a rod and attacked UNB and his manager. UNB's manager also alleged that the attackers had concealed their number plates with mud. He said the men confirmed that UNB was inside the car before assaulting him. An FIR was filed following the incident. Police were working to ascertain the motive behind the attack. UNB is a hip-hop artist from Sikkim with a following across the Northeast. The incident came days after National Award-winning filmmaker Dominic Sangma was assaulted in Arunachal Pradesh. The two incidents involved people travelling in Arunachal Pradesh, with the cases being reported days apart.
