Plywood flys through the sky in Seattle.
Plywood from a construction site in South Lake Union flew through downtown Seattle on Sept. 30 during high winds, narrowly missing pedestrians. The debris originated from a site on Bell Street between 6th and 7th Avenues. Workers were seen collecting it later that day. Other witnesses reported this event having happened before. A spokesperson for Seattle’s Dept. of Construction and Inspection released a statement saying: “Jobsite safety is paramount during construction, both for the crews and the public. Construction materials such as plywood should always be tied down or secured during a wind event.”
