Recently made 90 of these pads to distribute to a women's church group in Haiti. They were extremely well received. I offered a pad making workshop and 36 women showed up. They plan to produce pads for themselves, as a ministry to other women in need and also to sell to produce additional income.

No foreign aid, no charity, just solid grass-roots progress. Heart-warming to see projects like this.

It’s great seeing reusable pads also used in Vanuatu and even better being manufactured locally.

What a fantastic idea!! Good on them, and this woman’s English is great, sounds like a real go getter out there to help her community!

History.... Disposable tampons and pads were not patented until the 1930s. In Europe most women still used homemade washable products until the 1940s. So we all survived until this time with homemade washable very sanitary products...well since women started wearing sanitary products. It's not unhygienic and it's not gross you are just use to the convenance of purchasing them.

If you know how to wash things it's just as clean and there won't be millions out in landfills or the ocean.
