Madhusudan Sandhu, also known as Mad Sandhu, was shot dead in Amritsar, Punjab, on 3 October 2026. The makeup artist and social media content creator had more than two lakh followers on Instagram and created content around makeup, fashion, gender identity and LGBTQ+ issues.
According to the information provided by Punjab Police, two men on a motorcycle opened fire at Madhusudan while he had gone to collect his car from a car wash on Loharka Road. He was taken towards a private hospital but died from his injuries on the way. Police recovered two empty bullet shells from the spot and registered an FIR.
Madhusudan also ran a unisex salon and a beauty academy in Amritsar. He had appeared in the Punjabi film Oye Bhola Oye 2 and in songs including Ragda.
After his death, a social media post allegedly linked to UK-based gangster Goldy Dhillon claimed responsibility for the killing. The post, which later disappeared, accused Madhusudan of corrupting the younger generation. Police have not confirmed the authenticity of the post.
In July 2026, Nihang Sikh group leader Manpreet Singh Khalsa had objected to Madhusudan’s content and his use of the Sandhu surname. He also asked Madhusudan to record a video saying he had “reformed”. Madhusudan later apologised to settle the conversation.
As of publishing, police had not identified the perpetrators and were investigating multiple angles to establish the motive.
