"We can't have this continued world of oppression that is driving climate catastrophe." This is why Friends of the Earth say richer nations like the UK should bail out countries already suffering the effects of climate change.

It's not bad to help those who are feeling repercussions of climate change. However just because one lives in a low-income country does not mean one is not contributing to climate change. If the countries get help, they should also show their actions by doing their share....are people, including the leaders driving around in big vehicles, are they cleaning up their rivers from polluting industries, are they installing and paying for air conditioners everywhere, have they made and enforce plastic bans, are they protecting their forests and using sustainably....they also need to be accountable....

The idea is good, but we need to keep in mind that the "global south" is normally ruled by very, very corrupt governments. We need to find a way to transfer knowledge, science and technology to the people in these countries. Just money is not enough, ergo what's going on in the Amazon.

We must remind it to everyone that climate change and catastrophe is the explanation and not the excuse.😊
