Yes. Too much emphasis on overindulgence and materialism.
Thanks for the humbug...

Dont buy anything made from plastic.
This makes January a commonly known month of poverty. Because a few days in December
We have a environmental problem not a CO2 problem : https://naturalclimatechange.org/
That's interesting. An artificial tree can't be reused. Well, we 'reuse'an artificial one at the moment. Now I know that not all the things Brut says are 100 % true...
A very commercially induced holiday..
Do we even have to ask?
Doesn't have to be. Don't buy useless tat, shop locally or smartly, use recyclable wrapping, don't use fake trees, travel.by coach, skip the imported alcohol, eat proper food.
This year I'm using discarded branches from the local tree farm for decorations along with pinecones. I'm also using fabric scraps for my gift wrapping that people can return to me or keep. We did buy a tree this year but we also collected many seeds from the pinecones do that we can grow new trees in our neighborhood. We're planning on rescuing a young tree either today or tomorrow so that we can get a better deal price wise and to make sure the undesired ones get a chance too. We didn't even know that having a live tree was an option until yesterday.
Every object in packaging and the bags they are put in every day of the year do not count? The manufacturer gives you no choice but to accept single use plastic when you buy. Do not pick on Christmas alone, other holidays encourage buying needless junk as well.
shut the fuck up and let people celebrate Christmas in peace
Our family does not do gifts and we have no tree or lights. So I'm glad.im doing my part.
I bet the most polluted holiday besides 4th of july
I try my best to reduce waste during this Season as much as possible . The foods are 99% home made , Christmas decoration are very carefully selected & re used every year with creative approach. Same goes with fairy lights & gift wrapping papers. I urge everyone to be gentle in opening the wrap so that they can be reused for wrapping. And usually we travel in public transport as much as possible.
Don't blame Christmas... Christmas is not about gifts... I looked in the bible and i coudn't find no single verse about expensive gifts wrapped in tons of wrapping paper.
