It's known as the "white gold" of Bolivia. Lithium may be powering phones, electric cars and computers, but mining it comes at a cost.

    all the new technologies require scarce materials found in some of the poorest nations with the result that they are targeted by big companies whilst adding minimally to the country's finances. However the cost in lives, pollution et al is left to be picked up by the govt. check out the DAR.
