Thirty-one-year-old Yuvraj Singh Manchanda worked in the Human Resources department at Adani Realty and lived with his family in Sarita Vihar, Delhi, according to The Indian Express.
On 6 September, Yuvraj went to Lajpat Nagar with his sisters. They visited the market and later stopped at the Golden Dragon restaurant at around 4pm.
During the visit, Yuvraj received a call.
He told his family that he had to attend an urgent meeting in Gurugram. He left the restaurant and asked his sisters to return home by cab.
Around 7 pm, his family spoke to him again. He reportedly said he would return home by around 10 pm.
He never did.
His phone was later switched off.

How Did The Search Begin?
Yuvraj’s family tried to contact him but could not reach him.
On 11 September, his sister approached the Lajpat Nagar police station and a missing-person FIR was registered.
Investigators began examining his call records, CCTV footage and other technical data.
Police found that Yuvraj’s last known conversation was with Anya Vats, a former colleague whom he had gone to meet in Gurugram.
Her phone was also switched off.
That became an important lead in the investigation. Police later traced a new mobile number allegedly being used by Vats and found that she was in Uttarakhand.

Where Was The Body Found?
While the missing-person investigation was underway, police had found an unidentified body in a drain in Sector 70, Gurugram, on 10 September.
The body was later linked to Yuvraj after photographs were shown to his family, who identified him.
Reports differ on what happened next.
NDTV reported that Yuvraj’s family alleged they were not informed about the body in time and that it was cremated on 14 September, before the family was informed about his death. The family has sought preservation of the post-mortem report, inquiry papers, photographs, DNA samples and his belongings.
These allegations form a separate part of the family’s concerns and are not being treated here as an established police finding.
